About the Show
Eleanor Estes’ 1945 Newbery Honor, The Hundred Dresses, tells the story of Wanda Petronski, a Polish girl in a Connecticut school who is ridiculed by her classmates for claiming she has one hundred dresses at home, when she wears the same faded blue dress everyday. This timeless tale addresses the hurt inflicted by teasing and the painful consequences for bystanders who fail to act courageously, when they have the power to make a change.
