ON-CAMERA CLASS & SERIES

Instructors: Robert Laurence & Laura Luc

Train and gain on-camera experience through KOTA’s brand new series, KIDS OF NEW YORK!  Actors and writers work together to tell our favorite stories on TV and in film, and that’s what we’ll do in this class!  You’ll develop your team’s story with a writer & director, rehearse, and film on location in NYC.  Along the way you’ll learn how to create and bring yourself to the moment, and how focus, imagination, and finding unique ways to pursue character objectives create a compelling performance on screen.

CASTING: Casting is open to ages 8-16 years old. In addition to the training and on-camera experience, actors will receive a digital copy of their work for their reel, plus behind the scenes photos and stills from the series. A total of 5 actors will be featured in each episode, and all will have speaking parts and on-camera time.

Tuition: $595  *Payment plans available.

CASTING IS BY AUDITION ONLY. Auditions will be held in NYC on Sat, Sept 23rd.  Bring a Headshot/Resume and completed AUDITION FORM

PREPARE: Bring two “NYC adventure”/story ideas with you – one realistic/authentic to NYC, and one with a fantasty element that we could fake on film (examples – a talking plant, a possessed phone).  Consider genres you enjoy – romance, adventure, horror, comedy, drama – and be ready to “pitch” your two ideas from what you’ve written on your audition form!  Our films will be shot in teams, so be sure to come up with ideas that have 4 or 5 characters.  This is challenging, but do the best you can, be creative, have fun and bring whatever you’ve got!

SCHEDULE an AUDITION APPOINTMENT for SAT, SEPT 23rd or SUBMIT VIDEO ONLINE (Deadline Sept 22)
